A special feature of the VirtueSearch platform pages will be the Safe Video View feature. This is a special masked mechanism for virtue-recommended FREE video links that open for immediate viewing.
Platforms like YouTube and others are designed to show a series of thumbnails promoting "similar" titles that the user is enticed to buy or watch next. Even if the first selected title is virtuous, the other content promoted as "similar" often is explicit, or contrary to faith and morality. The comment section on video platforms is also an opportunity for danger. Often that is where predators begin a “conversation” with an unsuspecting young viewer to lead them astray.
VirtueSearch includes a special masked frame feature on the pages that link directly to free video viewing. With this mechanism in place, none of the thumbnail "suggestions" or “comments” will be visible. When the video ends, the viewer closes that pop-up viewing box and can select another virtue-rated choice without ever leaving the VirtueSearch Platform.
We will offer parents a trustworthy way for children and teens to enjoy content from the the various popular video platforms without being tempted or distracted. Families will not need to set up a complex permissions structure. The VirtueSearch platform itself, by design, will keep bad content, temptations, and predators away.
**In the first phase of the platform, the "watch on YouTube" option is still available. Upgrades to our system will later remove this access point. The goal is fully eliminate access for VS viewers to YouTube comments or recommendations.
